SAFP promotes active, meaningful, creative particiaption in the life of the sanghams. Families learn strong leadership and decsion making skills, and indepedance through sustainable asset creation. Each family in this program establishes a bank account at their local bank, credit union or sangham. The $20.00 monthly support is deposited into this bank account and is used or basic human needs such as food, clothing or shelter. Each family is encouraged to save a portion of this monthly support for their future needs or to start a livelihood initiative. Families are expected to reach self-reliance within six years. Once the family can support themselves, SAFP will contact you and request your support be transferred to another family.
